Ok... so I have been slacking.... but here we go with a new week, the week before Parent Teacher Confrences and a lot of things to do this week!

FOUNDATIONS A:
We continue working with multiplying decimals, Monday we worked with the Lattice method and the rest of the week we will be working on getting our multiplying skills in better shape! Then we will venture towards division.... YIKES!

When Aquman heard the news of a sinking U.S. Navy Submarine off the coast of Brazil with 245 men on board, he quickly sprang into action! If he left his secret hideout in downtown Newberg at 2:20 in the afternoon

and arrived in Brazil at 2:30, how long did it take him to swim from the Willamette river all the way to the Atlantic Ocean____. Since Aquaman had not had much time off he decided to hang out in Brazil for a 3 days before he headed back to Newberg. How much time did Aquaman spend in total travel time on his trip______?

You guys have done great work on simplifying.. Today with our “Reduce it Game,” I am not sure how well some of you did??? Either way we will spend a few more days on simplifying then we move into Multiplying Fractions which I think is sooooooooooo easy to do.. no doubt you will too!

BLOG QUESTION FOR FOUNDATIONS B:

Did you know that every week the Garbage dept in San Francicso picks up at least 375 unwanted mattresses that people through out in the street or ask to have picked up? Well I didnt believe it either until I saw it on Dirty Jobs... and we all know that Mike Rowe tells the truth!                         

So to help Mike and the mattress collectors of San Francisco, the Hulk tagged along to pick up mattresses. If Mike Row can load 10 mattresses into a truck in 1 hour and the Hulk can load and pick up the truck with 100 mattress in an 25 minutes how long will it take Mike to load up all 375 mattresses? And how long will it take the Hulk to pick up all 375 mattresses?

Did you enjoy your extra two days off? I sure did... wish I would have wondred off to some warm beach... or ate lots of Krispy Creams.. And took naps.. But nope... had a list of chores to do... yard work.. Fun stuff like that!... . A new week for us to learn and grow... So here you go.. The 411 for the week!

FOUNDATIONS A:

We have been working on decimals for a while now... actually what we are doing is practicing our adding subtracting and now we move into multiplication.. I figure if you can multiply decimals.. You can multiply whole numbers.. Tricky huh.. Guess that goes with Trick or Treat.. Hahahah and we all know that math is a real TREAT!

Fractions.. Fractions.. And even more fractions this week... we get to work on equivalent fractions.. And how to simplify... does that make them simple? OH sureeeeeeeeeee!! How exciting!!!! We have just 3 days of school this week... I will be doing yard work... hmm chores... and other odds and ends... hopefully, you will be cleaning your room... doing nice things to help your parents out! Though it’s a short week, we still have lots to do...
