Week of September 28- October 2

Greetings Super Heros!

Well... as we get into a new week... the month of September is coming to an end and we already starting October... Mr. Busch likes to say... “I can’t believe that another month has passed!” And he is correct..

Another month will have come and gone. Hopefully you are having a SUPER HERO FANTASTIC year so far... but as Batman says, “No time to tarry, lest we forget, lives are at stake!” So here you go.. The 411 for the week!

REMEMBER to take good notes and also keep up on your daily Board Work! ALSO - if you miss your Math Facts Goal you are to take your slip home and practice it for 5 mins with an adult or even an older brother or sister.... and have whoever you practice with initial your sheet.

FOUNDATIONS A:

Seems like the week went so quickly... hmmm now what did we do last week and what are we up to this week? Hmmmmm... oh yes how about... we will continue our work on adding and subtracting decimals... along with comparing and rounding decimals... I know we didn’t get to do the big Round up last week but this week for sure! Saddle up partner!
Your Blog question for the week:

If Spider-man can shoot a web 225 feet... and to save Mary Jane from the clutches of evil, he jumps off of the Empire State Building (which is 1,250 feet) how far down will he go before he runs out of web rope?

FOUNDATIONS B:
Now that we have made friendship bracelets... perhaps one of you will start your own business some day and strike it rich. This week we are about to head into a deeper understanding of fractions ~ adding and subtracting and how to find the GCF.... it goes right along with... Do you still have a crush on him or her? I guess we will find out this week!

Great job by two of you on answering the Blog question for the week.. Um the rest of you... will lose out on those points.. So here is your new question for the week:

Iron Man's suit has many power sources, such as solar converters, electrical batteries and an on-board generator that uses beta particle absorption as a fuel source. The suit is also able to convert nearby energy sources, such as heat or kinetic energy into electricity, or even drain electrical energy directly into the batteries for recharge.

If Iron Mans average length of power lasts him 1 and a half days... how often does he have to recharge his suit over a 3 week time span?

Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-man. You too have great power.. Be responsible, you can do great things!

Remember, as always, you are amazing, incredible people with the whole world waiting to be changed by YOU!

Be SUPER This Week!

Mr. Rott
