Greetings Super Heroes!
Well in just a day we will be back at it..!! I had someone tell me the other day that we only had like 50 school days left.. So by now that must be close to 40ish school days left. Now that may be exciting to YOU but my favorite super heros.. That’s NOT exciting to me! So much to cover and so little time!
2nd and 5th Period: This week we are going to do some MAGIC! Yep... Super Heroes who do magic! We will be magically taking fractions and turning them into decimals.. And then guess what? Yes we will be turning them back into fractions.. Oh but that’s not all my little Super Heroes! No.. We will then be turning those decimals into percents! Oh the fun!
BLOG QUESTION 2nd and 5th Period:
Since you are a cool and groovy Super Hero and you wanted to protect the town of Newberg... and you knew that there was a huge flash flood coming... and in order to protect the town you would have to build a dam out of trees. It takes you 5 mins to pull up a huge tree and 5 minutes to move it in place. #1 If you had to move 50 trees how long would it take_______________?
4th Period: This week we are working on March Madness and also on a project that will deal with Soda. The project will have a part for each of you... working together! Should be fun and interesting!
BLOG QUESTION FOR 4th Period:
If it’s true that the amount of sugar in a Soda equals about 8 - 10 sugar cubes then #1) ask 5 people how many sodas they drink every week and total that amount up_______ #2) then figure out how many sugar cubes that equals_____________.
COOL SITE OF THE WEEK! All about sodas... and how much sugar is in those sodas you drink!
GO Zags!! ..Well we had a good season.... could have been better but that’s it... We made it to the second round... but could not beat Syracuse: ( Next season is not to far away!

Blog for the March 15 - 19
Greetings Super Heroes!
How exciting! What you ask...??? this is the week before spring break! YEAH.... a whole week off... to do whatever your heart wants... nap? work? Homework?? yeah!! it will be a quick and fun week!!
2nd and 5th Period: This week we are going to work on multiplying and dividing mixed numbers. And this FRIDAY... it will be COOKIE DAY!! That’s right boys and girls we will be making sugar cookies... may the force be with us! REMEMBER to come by my room after school and pick up your cookie dough or I will have to throw it away :(
BLOG QUESTION 2nd and 5th Period:
4th Period: This week we are cramming a LOT of material into one short week.. So better buckle up, pull that seat belt tight! Not only will we be doing our College Basketball Brackets but also learning about graphing and data collecting.
BLOG QUESTION FOR 4th Period:
#1) Since Mr. Rott is training to run the Eugene Half Marathon with his wonderful daughter Rachel on the first weekend of May... and since I cannot seem to break 10 minute miles if I run more than 3 miles...#2 how many minutes will it take for me to run 13.1 miles______? #3 And if the statistics are correct that at a 12:00 minute mile pace you burn 108 calories per mile how many calories would I burn at my regular rate of 10:00 minutes per mile?___________? Remember the Iron Man questions we worked on :)

GO Zags!! ..Well... March Madness has begun! Unfortunately the Zags did not do so hot with a few games and as a result will not start the tournament in Spokane .. That would have been so sweet! Instead... they are in Oklahoma... huh??? and it will not be an easy task for them to advance .... they will be playing some tough teams... but true Zag believes will continue to hold out hope.. You just never know what can happen in a basketball game! The frist game is this Saturday at 4:00, I think on CBS! GOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooo Zags!

Class Blog for the week of March 8 - 11
Greetings Super Heroes!
2nd and 5th Period: This week we are going to work on adding and subtracting mixed numbers. Once we have this figured out.. We will then be making cookie dough that you can then take home and bake up your own cookies!

BEFORE ANSWERING make sure that you read the introduction to the blog for this week! The Olympics are over... but... if the USA won 5 medals in each sport how many medals would they have won?
GO Zags!! .. SO get this... you known how I have Gonzaga Basketball info on our blog each week... and how we talk about the Zags in class all the time... well this week I recieved a letter from the Gonzaga University, wanting to know all about my connection to Gonzaga and what the blog was about! WAY COOL!! Our blog is like celebrity status.. Oh yeah we are cool!! At least I think we are cool and it sounds like the University person who emailed me thought our blog was cool.. So guess that means we are COOL! Anyhow back to basketball.. I just finished watching our Zags beat Loyola Marymount lose 62 - 77 to the BEST COLLEGE TEAM IN THE COUNTRY>.. That’s right!!! THE ZAGS! Tomorrow night (Monday) at 6:30 vs St. Marys.. I am guessing on ESPN2. Then when the Zags win that game they will be WCC Tournament Champs! Then... oh yes! It’s March Madness Baby!! Hopefully you will learn a bit about basketball and of course your number sense will improve! GO ZAGS!!!

A short week BUT this week is different.. Why.. Because on Friday I will be posting your grades and then in a few days they will be sent home! So if you have any missing work..
