9 14 - 18

Greetings Super Heros!

Bam! Boom! Kapow! Ah the life of a Super Hero... first week is down..and now you are used to your lockers and the flow of classes. This week we get down to business.. Super Hero business that is...
This week we will be talking AGE... did you know that in one day there are

1 day = 24 hours 1 day = 1,440  minutes 1 day = 86, 400 seconds

Who would have thought... just think you can fight bad guys for 86,400 seconds a day.. Since Super Heros don’t need to sleep!

Make sure that your cape, gloves and mask are tightly on .. Because this week.. We are going to get to it!

FOUNDATIONS A:

This week my favorite Super Heros, we will be studying age and number lines. Really we will be looking at numbers and what they are made up of. We will also talk about how to read math... that’s a pretty big deal when working with math.

FOUNDATIONS B:

Ah... Super Heros... We jump right off the Empire State Building... as we take a leap into Fractions! OH yes BATMAN! Fractions. It may be Kryptonite to some of you but trust me... you will all make it through!

So here is your math question for the week.. It will be due by Friday and the only way to answer it is on line :)

How fast can Superman fly? They say that Superman is faster than a speeding bullet... more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall building sin a single bound... but how fast can he fly? So Superman can fly 1,500 meters in one second. 1 meter = is roughly 3 feet, so 1,500 meters = 4,500 feet.

So your question of the week is .. How many feet can Superman fly in 15 seconds?

______________________ once you figure out your answer click on "comment" below and fill in your answer and don’t forget to leave your initials and period so I know who is answering the question!

Be Super... remember it takes very little to be Super.. instead of just ok... Like Spiderman, sometimes you just have to jump!

Remember, as always, you are amazing, incredible people with

the whole world waiting to be changed by YOU!

Be SUPER This Week!

Mr. Rott
