Greetings Super Heroes!

We are down to the countdown... only 2 more Mondays... 2 more Tuesdays... and so on... and then summer is here! Just in case you might miss math I would be glad to loan you a math book so that you can keep up on your work over the summer.... just a thought!

2nd and 5th Period: We will continue our tour of the land of Geometry! This week perimeter and area... and story time!

BLOG QUESTION 2nd and 5th Period:
Lets say that this summer you get a job babysitting, which is very cool because you will earn some cash! You charge $9.00 an hour, If you babysit  7 hours on Monday and then again Wednesday 5 hours, 4 ½ hours on Thursday, 6 ½ hours on Friday and 4 hours on Saturday... 1) how much did you make______________ 2) And if you worked these same hours for a whole month how much would you make______________?

4th Period: More on measuring... an inch here and an inch there pretty soon you have a MILE! Get it?

BLOG QUESTION FOR 4th Period: You and some of your friends are having Mexican Fiesta Night.. you found a recipe that makes 12 Corn Tortillas, so you figure why not make fresh tortillas! The recipe says... Make the corn massa by putting 1 cup of masa harina into a bowl and then you make a well in the center of it and add 2/3 cup plus 1 tbsp. of water to the well and stir to form a dough. Next knead the dough until it’s soft but no more like Play-doh. Pinch off a palm-size piece and roll into a ball. Then cut two 7" circles out of a cleaned plastic shopping bag. Put 1 circle on a tortilla press. Arrange dough in center; top with second circle. Push handle down on tortilla press to flatten the dough. Open the press, remove the top piece of plastic, and transfer the tortilla to the palm of your hand, pulling off the second piece of plastic. Cook the tortilla  immediately in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, flipping occasionally, until lightly toasted. Repeat with the remaining dough. But you need to make 36 tortillas so what changes to the recipe do you need to make?____________________
